IPL Photorejuventation for Skin Rejuvenation Edmonton

“I had some brown spots and other noticeable signs of sun damage that made me very self conscious. I used to cover it up with a lot of make up but now that I’ve had some IPL treatments I can’t stop looking in the mirror! My skin looks fantastic! The staff at Ethemba were so helpful and kind, I can’t thank them enough for what they have done for my self image.”

IPL stands for Intense pulsed light. It is one of our most popular procdures because you can achieve excellent results without any downtime. You can expect a reduction in fine lines, age spots, blemishes, broken blood vessels, smoothing of the skin and a significant improvement in skin tone and elasticity. Your skin will look more radiant and you will have a more youthful appearance.

This procedure is enhanced when combined with Microdermabrasion or our Dermaceutical Peels.

Why have Photorejuvenation?:

Intense pulsed light targets brown spots and red vessels while stimulating collagen production. You will have glowing skin with lasting results. Many areas can be treated with no downtime! Treatments for fine lines, sun damage, broken veins, rosacea and numerous other concerns can be treated! Your skin will glow and only you will know why!

What is the treatment like?

Your skin will be prepared with a special gel and you will be provided with protective eyewear. Your medical provider will then scan the skin with intense pulsed light with a customized setting for your unique requirements. Any brown spots come to the surface and then slough off, resulting in fresh, bright skin. Red and blue vessels should fade. Often a series of treatments are recommended because this type of treatment is gradual, resulting in continued improvement with each treatment. We usually recommend a series of 3-5 treatments for optimal results. Most patients report mild discomfort but tolerate removal of dilated blood vessels or age spots/freckles and fine lines very easily. At the end of the treatment, we will wipe off the gel, cleanse the area with a warm cloth, and apply a moisturizer with sunscreen. ten minutes. You can reapply foundation or concealer immediately after a treatment and go back to work!

What should I look for when choosing the best treatment for me?

Do your own research! Be suspicious of low cost “specials.” They are usually low cost for a reason. Make sure that your provider has expertise and uses an IPL with the latest in technology. Not all IPL’s are created equally and often your best choice will be with an experienced Medical office that uses laser technology sold to Physicians. Lasers can cause serious burns. Medical offices with Physician supervised treatments are your safest option.

How long will the results last?

Your results depend on how much sun exposure you get after your laser treatment. If you expose your skin to sun without sunscreen, your underlying issues will return. But if you take good care of your skin with sunscreen, hats and other protective measures, your skin will continue to look great with annual maintenance treatments. You can have this treatment at any time of the year, but it is best to avoid too much sun exposure without protection if you want lasting results.

How should I prepare for my photorejuvenation treatment?

For a few weeks prior to your treatment, avoid self tanners and excessive sun. You should discontinue retin-a/renova several days prior to your laser treatment. It is often a good idea to avoid aspirin, ibuporfen or other non steroidal anti inflammatory medication one week prior to treatment unless medically indicated to help prevent bruising. Always use sunscreen and hats for protection.
