According to Statistics Canada, 61.3% of adult Canadians were overweight or obese in 2015. If current trends continue, by 2040, up to 70% of adults aged 40 years will be either overweight or obese.
Patients who have tried numerous programs with and without extreme dieting, diet pills, and various herbal/supplemental approaches have come to us frustrated with results. Many of these programs are unhealthy and even dangerous. Weight loss alternatives such as meal replacement products and diet clinics can help one lose weight, but the process lacks a personal experience with a physician and extended support team after the weight is lost.
