Wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, and other early signs of skin aging can be difficult to avoid. Thankfully, several treatments can address these issues and restore the natural beauty of your skin. Micro-needling is an excellent skin rejuvenation treatment that can effectively reduce the appearance of a variety of common skin concerns on the face.
What Is Micro-Needling?
Micro-needling is also called collagen induction therapy. Collagen is an essential protein that helps skin look youthful, firm, and supple. Aging causes the decline of collagen in the skin, contributing to wrinkles and other signs of aging. Micro-needling induces the production of new collagen in the skin, known as neocollagenesis.
Micro-needling also encourages the growth of fibroblasts, and epithelial and endothelial cells, which results in even skin tone and a healthy overall glow.
Micro-needling is a minimally invasive skin treatment in which a tiny micro-needle channel punctures in a precise pattern in the top layer of skin at various depths that can be adjusted by the Certified technician depending on the area being treated and damage to the area being treated. The depth ranges from 0.5mm to 2.0 depth.
How Micro-Needling Works
Various device are used by different healthcare providers to serve different purposes. Each device offers unique benefits. We chose to use the Eclipse MicroPen at Ethemba health and Image Centres because it delivers greater efficiency and superior clinical results while maintaining the highest level of safety for both the patient and provider with disposable one-patient use tips.
The ease of use with the MicroPen makes every treatment very comfortable for the patient.
What A Blessing It Is To Have Met You
Dear Dear Shannon.
I am crying now as I’ve read your words. With joy, release, peace. YOU HAVE TOTALLY NAILED IT/ME!! It is a relief. I am going to put this up on my wall in several places in my home. I am going to cry a few times on this.
What a blessing it is to have met you. I wish I had recorded our time together ❤
Grateful for you,
You can see the results of micro-needling after the first session. But for best results, we recommend treatments in a series of 4 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. With each treatment session, you will start to notice the changes in your skin texture and tone. The final result is radiant-looking facial skin that looks younger and smoother.
Microneedling pokes several holes in your skin which induces the collagen production process in the skin. The small holes known as microchannels can be used to deposit medication or serum into your skin. We can perform micro-needling treatments using hyaluronic acid to increase moisturization in the skin.
Micro-Needling with PRP
We can also use PRP (Platelet-rich plasma), which is using your blood which is then centrifuged to produce PRP which is then applied on top of the skin after one pass to allow the PRP to penetrate the microneedle channels to improve healing time, stimulate collagen, has growth factors which are beneficial for your skin and speed up healing time.
We often encourage combining treatments such as dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, IPL, and or YAG treatments for optimum results.
It’s up to you in the end if you choose to just have a stand-alone treatment that also offers great results.
Your skin post-treatment will continue to improve for up to 6 months post-treatment.
Micro needling treats:
Micro-needling treats several signs of skin aging and various skin problems that include the following.
- stretch marks
- lax skin
- enlarged pores
- lines and wrinkles
- loose skin
The micro-needling procedure has two purposes
- The holes punctured into your skin by the derma-pen or derma-rollers are called ‘Micro-channels.’ Micro-channels allow skincare products to penetrate and be absorbed into the deeper layers of your skin.
- The tiny pin-pricks caused by the derma-pen called micro-channels act as mini injuries in your body. This stimulates collagen and elastin production.
Here are the various benefits of micro-needling treatment.
- Boosts collagen
- Wrinkle reduction
- Reduces scars and stretch marks
- Overall texture improvement
- Increased volume in the skin for a more youthful appearance
- Pore minimizer
- Glowing more radiant skin
- Improved product penetration
- It can be combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures for enhanced results
How Much Does a Microneedling Costs?
